The Beauty of Blackness Fine Arts Show

Returns To Fort Collins Co.

2nd Annual Exhibit and Live Stream Show

A premier Fine Art Show showcasing the finest in Black and African American Art

Two Events One Show in Fort Collins Co.

Founder, artist, and curator Louise Cutler has spent the mid part of her career in the limitedly culturally diverse city of Fort Collins, Colorado. For years, she dreamed of presenting a fine art show that featured Black artists from around the diaspora.   For Cutler, the goal was to showcase the beauty of her culture and expose it to the world just how powerful a show featuring all Black artists from around the diaspora could be here in a place with reduced contact to the Black /African American culture.   Last year it finally looked as if all was aligned to make that happen—and then covid hit with devastating effects on brick and mortar showcases.

“A wonderful thing happened,” said Cutler.  “My dream turned into something quite different yet amazing.”  Cutler said that the pandemic caused her event to become one of the first ever live-streamed fine art shows in the country.

“Instead of postponing the show until the following year, we went fully virtual, live streaming the entire four-day festival each day from artist studios from around the country and on all major social media platforms.

Cutler said she worked quickly to get herself up to speed on the technology needed to stream last year’s show by learning the streaming platform “Stream yard” so that she could actually produce the entire show herself.  This allowed artists, musicians, guest speakers and audiences not to worry about anything other than signing into the show each day.
