Artist and curator Louise Cutler brings to Fort Collins Museum Of Arts for the first time an exhibit featuring works by some of our most influential Black Artists of the day.  “A Culture Preserved In The Black Experience” Opening July 29th-Oct 16th 2022. The Exhibition will feature the Art of Charly Palmer. Charly was selected by Time Magazine to create the July 2020 cover as well as selected by John Legend to create the cover for his latest album. Kevin William better known as Wak is one of the most recognized black artists nationally and internationally. His work grace the walls of Talk show host Oprah Winfrey, and late actor comedian Bernie Mac. His art has been featured on television’s “Law & Order” (NBC) and “Soul Food ” (Showtime). He is currently working on something with the BBC for Black History Month in Europe in October. Other Artist include Gerald Griffin, Gerald’s work has been collected by former United States President, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Jackson, Oprah Winfrey, Chris Gardner, Steve Harvey, Wesely Snipes and Adele Givens. Joyce Owens whose work shows in embassies throughout the world. Jim Clark Wider work has been collected by Kenya’s Ambassador to the United States, show host and actress Oprah Winfrey, actress Esther Rolle, actress Marla Gibbs, General Colin Powell, basketball super star Grant Hill, activist Dick Gregory, football Hall-of-Famer “Mean” Joe Green, actor Hal Williams. Other Artist in the show Deborah Shedrick, Thomas Lockhart, Efilaf, Karen Drewry, 


The Exhibit “A Culture Preserved in the Black Experience” addresses how Black culture and its heritage reflect and shape the values, beliefs, and aspirations, which define a people’s identity. This exhibition presents and preserves the Black visual artist narrative and also explores how Black people relate and fit within the American dream where they have had to consistently reshape and reformulate their identities.
